Product is waterproof

How it works

ProMeris contains the active flea control ingredient, metaflumizone. This compound features an exclusive mode of action that attacks the flea?s nervous system by blocking neuronal sodium channels, which results in paralysis and death. In addition to metaflumizone, ProMeris contains amitraz, well recognized to provide broad-spectrum control of ticks.

Cautions

Side effects may occur if product is licked after application. When used between the shoulder blades, as directed, licking isn?t an issue. Amitraz is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI). Do not use any other MAOI products such as Preventic Collar, Mitaban Dip, Anipryl, or Selegiline while using ProMeris for Dogs or Cats.

THIS HELPS CHRONIC DEMODEX! - When this item was taken off the market due to the company being bought by another company, I stocked up on this product. I have a 13-year-old dog with chronic demodex. I use one tube on her every two to three months and she is doing great. I've also used it on new rescues who were in terrible condition with demodex but are now healthy dogs. Yes, it's pricey especially now that it's very difficult to find but if you have a dog with chronic demodex it may just be a lifesaver. Being a veterinary technician, I've seen every treatment there is but for the hardest cases this has an amazing success rate!

Keeps away the mites! - For years our boxer has had a severe mite problem. She was largely bald when we got her from a boxer rescue and while she's recovered most of her hair, we still need to watch it. The cornerstone of our mite defense is Promeris, recommended to us by our vet. If we apply it faithfully (once a month, around her neck and shoulders), she's fine. If we stop, the mites come back, and pretty soon we're looking at $500-1000 in vet bills to get her healthy again. For us, this is just a no-brainer. With Promeris, healthy dog. Without Promeris, sick dog. I can believe that some dogs have severe reactions, and while that's regrettable, I would no more deny Promeris to my dog because some other dog had a reaction than I would deny an antibiotic to my child because some other kid had a reaction. We haven't seen any side effects at all, lethargy or otherwise. It simply works, keeping the mites away and our dog healthy!

jfkjkdfjio - My dogs are allergic to Frontline so I have to use Promeris. Promeris is usually very expensive but this seller has a reasonable price. I received the item very fast. Thank you

Promeris for control of Demodex - We use this product as prescribed by our on-staff Veterinarian for the control of demodex in several of our Sanctuary dogs. We find it to be effective and safe if used as prescribed. Some dogs do not tolerate this medication well, so we monitor our dogs closely to watch for any adverse reactions. Luckily, our pets have not had adverse side-effects and Promeris has been an effective method to control our severe demodex cases.

Works Great! - It's a little stinky, pretty strong stuff, but my dogs have never had any problems with fleas and ticks while on this product.

more effective than Frontline or Advantix! - We've been waging war on fleas for the past several months. I've spent considerable time and money trying to beat the odds and keep my four dogs from being eaten alive. Tried Frontline PLUS twice, and both times I saw fleas reinfest within a week. Advantix seemed ineffective altogether, as I never did see an absence of the fleas upon inspection. I tried ProMeris cautiously after seeing some "scary" reviews online. I administered the correct dosages to all four of my dogs (large pit bull, lab/beagle mix, havanese and a pekingese) and monitored all of them. Within 4 hours, I noted far less scratching/biting, was unable to locate any living fleas upon inspection, and did not note ANY lethargy, vomiting or other adverse reactions from any of the four dogs. So far, ProMeris appears to be more effective the Frontline, and faster acting. The longevity of the repellant remains to be seen; but I will update with that information. I'm inclined to believe certain breeds may be sensitive to ProMeris (as with any of the others) and user error likely results in the animal ingesting the product through self-grooming.

Demodex Mite control - I have had the same demodectic mites for my english bulldog. Went to the vet and they said to use the old fashion way of getting rid of the mites which includes baths everyday with a precription shampoo, dips, and other crap. Talked to my breeder, and he suggested Promeris. Returned all what I can to the vet and got Promeris. After about two months, my bulldog is back to normal. I was amazed on how fast it worked. My bulldog stays outdoor during the day and inside his crate in the house at night. So far, I have not have any fleas/ticks issues. I give it a 5-star. To cure the demodex mites, apply 1 application every two weeks for the first month. After the first month, apply 1 application every month as normal.

Literally a life saver. - One of my German Shepherds, poor baby, has demodectic mange. No, it's not from neglect and I didn't adopt her; it's actually from a mite that lives on most dogs and even some humans too which is given by direct contact between the pups and their mother. My dog just happens to not tolerate them well. After plenty of feeling guilty for the way my dog looked, how miserable she seemed and 3+ vet visits a Promeris regimen kept the demodex under control. The cons to this product is that it makes her very drowsy. Maybe only 15 minutes after applying the medicine she will be napping. The drowsiness lasts a couple days after applying it. It smells pretty awful, like you've dipped your dog in a citronella candle, and leaves a white residue in the fur. Be careful to apply it right on the neck behind the head so the dog in unable to lick it; the active ingredient can cause nasty side effects if the dog does such as loss of coordination and vomiting. Personally I've only experienced the sleepiness with Promeris though.
